A little Christmas tour of the living room and dining area, pretty much already for the Holidays...
It's amazing what a few touches of red will do, it sure adds some festive feelings in this room....
Now just getting those gifts wrapped and we will be ready to go...easier said then done...I think I will do my usual and put them in bags and decorate the bags...it works pretty well, so if lets say you got susie a sweater and perfume and a scarf, all that goes into a bag just for her instead of three individual bags or boxes...this is so helpful when we all get together to open presents on Christmas eve we are not crowded out of the room by all the presents, everyone looks forward to their bag...
Thought I would show you my newest purchase of this large champagne chilling bucket, it has poinsettias in it now, but I adore it, from home goods...I think I could chill 3 or 4 bottles in there at the same time...
You probably have guessed why this is called Red and white Christmas 2013...I do love the red added to all the white I had for 2012
The white owls add to the wonderland feeling and the red, just the pop we needed...
Mr. Owl looks like he is gonna jump off of the tree...the small red balls are from Michaels and I used my white glass paint pen and painted circles on them, I think they stand out more and it's a fun project to do in front of the tv....
Owls everywhere and they especially seem to like to stay in the tree, must be cause it is warm...lol...the red sprigs are from Michaels and were on sale for 59 cents each, what a deal and what a huge impact they make, almost like under the sea type of feel...
The tall house on the buffet is from a wholesale house and I added the white owls...
I am keeping this one contained, he looks too big to let loose...
I love the white fluffy stockings, they are from TJ Maxx and I have had for a couple of years...Still haven't had the white slipcovers made for the two green chairs yet..oh well
Tina is wondering what all the fuss is about, she is not too fond of this room since she is not allowed on the furniture, she just seems to pass through now...love that
You will remember the post before this one, the tea set I was going to paint, it looks so pretty with the red dishes..so sparkly
The table runner is a gift from my friend Mary a few years ago, Mary is at mydogsmygardenandmary.blogspot.com
It looks pretty with the Poinsettia plates...
And of course the Lenox dishes look good with anything..
Thanks for stopping in and visiting around the house, I love your comments and look forward to reading them all...

Conxita
I have been looking forward to your Christmas post. Love all your home decore. Beautiful tree with the owls. Love that. The table runner is beautiful. Love all the pops of red. I love seeing red and greens in trees. Traditional colors are definitely the way to go, especially the red. Thanks for sharing your beautifully decorated home. Ana
ReplyDeleteStunning! I love all the shiny pops of red you have threaded throughout the room and especially love the red Merry Christmas pillow on the couch and the companion white Merry Christmas pillow on the chair w/ottoman. From where did you purchase these? Wishing you a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThey are new this year from TJMaxx, Thank you , I like them too...
DeleteOh my Christmas gosh! Just lovely - from the pillows to the throws to the tree, everything is so beautiful. Jane
ReplyDeleteGet Out!!!!!!!!! Oh, my gosh...this is gorgeous!!! The room was beautiful to start, but with all the red added for Christmas cheer...it's REALLY rockin'!!!! I love all the owls! (I bought a bunch this year but decided to go a different route. Sigh! Maybe next year!) FABULOUS champagne bucket!!! Home Goods always comes through, don't they?
ReplyDeleteYour pillows are really neat! I just love pretty Christmas pillows! It's cool that one side is red with white writing and the other side is reversed. So versatile!!!
BEAUTIFUL table!!! Everything is just beautiful and beyond!!! I hope you have a chance to just really kick back and enjoy it for the remainder of the season. Take care, and have a very happy Christmas!!!
Oh Phyl, everything is so lovely and I love the red pops of color through out your living and dining rooms. Will be over after Christmas to see all your pretties.
ReplyDeleteLove the tree and all the decorations.
Mary
Hi Phyllis! Oh, your living and dining room look so pretty! I love all the pops of red and those little owls! Your tree is so pretty. Love the bag idea. That sure would be easier than all of the wrapping! Have a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
You have a very beautiful home. The white and red look very elegant in the room.
ReplyDeleteLove how you have done a sophisticated red and white rather than the candy cane peppermint cutesy red and white. It all looks so Hollywood movie glam and I would love to cozy up on your couch with that fur throw and enjoy a chilled glass of bubbly from your awesome new wine bucket. I love your gift bag idea too, I wish I could tell my 24 family members that they had to bring their gifts in a bag so everyone could just tote their bag [AND TRASH] home!! You are certainly set for a lovely holiday and please tell me how you trained your cat to stay off the furniture!! Maybe it would work for sticky grandsons :) Merry Merry!

Thank you for the lovely comments, actually I have step stools in front of the furniture she is allowed on and in the living room no steps and when I caught her on there I would clap my hands and tell her no no no after about 10 times, she hated being disturbed so much so she just stopped going in there except to stop and look out the window....shes a hoot
DeleteBeautiful Christmas decorations! Your home looks gorgeous! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteRed just says Christmas! And, your home is stunningly beautiful for the holidays; I especially love the Owls. Merry Christmas dear friend, XOXO
ReplyDeleteLove this stunning room! The white and pops of red are so pretty! Love your tree! Thanks for sharing at TTF!
ReplyDeletePhyllis, your home looks so pretty with the pops of red! So festive and cheery! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteEspero que estés pasando tus vacaciones navideñas muy bien PHYLLIS..
ReplyDeleteUN ABRAZO GUAPA :)))
Even after Christmas I enjoyed your red and white decorations and the owls are a perfect touch. I love using bags too. Mr SS even likes to help wrap now. Wishing you a great New Year.
ReplyDeleteThis room is lovely....my favorite color combination! It always looks fresh and clean! (black and white on the four legged decor is great too :^)
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at your "bag" idea. Every year I wrap one gift (usually the nicest one) for each person. Everything else that I have picked up during the year, goes in a brown paper grocery bag with their name on it. As you can imagine, the brown bags are the most favored gifts :^)
Thank you for your post and I hope you have a blessed new year,
J
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! I now follow you thanks for visiting me over at Hibiscus House!
ReplyDeleteThis room is lovely....my favorite color wright
