BUTTERFLIES AND PINK LEMONADE

March 1st was the first day of spring, and what a beautiful day ....It really is a pink lemonade and butterfly day....

The butterfly desserts are made from my new butterfly pan, wow they are hard to decorate, fun to make though, I just wanted to make them the same colors as the flowers in the plates.....The Pan is Nordic and was found at TJMaxx for 19.00 there are 6 butterfly sections in each pan....great quality pan...

Love all the cute little butterflies, they are from Michaels and have wires attached that I erased in the google program Picasa.......easy and fun...

I left the wire showing in this picture to show you how they are attached.....

These pictures are taken on the deck outside the bedroom and living room. This summer I will do more tablescapes outside and by the outdoor fireplace, still a little cold outside, but you have to give March 1st the respect that the first day of spring deserves, the birds sure know what the date is......The table cloth is from Home Depot and is indoor outdoor carpet cut to fit the table top....they have large pieces for 15.00....there is a huge piece left after cutting this out.....I like the garden party kind of feel and the grassy look...

The cute goblet glasses with the flowers imbeded are a great find from GW for 1.00 each...gotta love that...

The small ceramic birds are from my sister Bobbie, she always finds the greatest things and knows I really like fat little ceramic birds....Maybe I will do a birdhouse with lots of birds tablescape, I think Michael from Designs by Gollum did one of those and I really loved that
look, but then again she has such beautiful things and the best ever food, just a warning though if you go for a visit you may never leave.

This cute little green chair usually sits on top of a cabinet outside the garage, very old but I just love the carving on the back of the chair.....

Aren't these the cuttest candle holder garden tools, they are from TJ Maxx, they were around 3.00 they are so rustic looking....

The wreaths around the floral plates were from Marshals, love the little pots attached to them...However I do think the butterfly cupcakes could use a little help, but they will taste good anyway...

Tucking the silverware in the gardening gloves is an idea I stole from Susan between naps on the porch...she has great ideas, a beautiful home and is the guru of the tablescaping world. When I first began blogging she was so helpful and supportive...

Can you tell why this is a favorite spot for Mr. S. in the summer time.....Hmmmmm

I really like the silverware it is Robert Welch and the design is by P. Russell-Clarke, it is so sleek and the forks and very long and slender, very different feel....

The dishes are Roscher and the pattern is Jasmine, this is a picture of the plate without the salad plate.....there are also nice size bowls with this group...Dishes from Ross....

It sure does say Spring, don't you think.....

I set the tablescape the night before to see what the table would look like with candles and some low lighting....There is a large chandelier above the table on a dimmer so that helps set the mood....

I like to think the butterflies came out in the evening because they saw the flowers, thats my story and I'm stickin to it....

If you are in a cold and snowy area, just be patient the sun is coming your way....

The house is an L shape and the gazebo is located in the corner of that L and opens up not only to the Master bedroom but to the Living room. That is the living room in the background, I have the door shut, don't want a house full of butterflies now do you???? If you look real close you can see Tina sleeping on the floor in the Living room....

Thanks for stopping by and hanging AROUND THE HOUSE. I hope you had a good time, got some tips, saw some new things or just enjoyed visiting....Please leave a comment so I know you are out there......I read them all and love hearing from you all.....If you are already a follower yay and if you have already picked up my button for your sidebar then a double yay yay ....you just make my day...Phyllis

  6. Phyllis, as always, your tablescape is beautiful! I love it all but my favorite item would have to be the glasses. What a great find! I never seem to have that luck in GW. Suppose I'll just have to stop by more frequently. Thanks for sharing.

  15. This tablescape is yummy! I love all the spring color and accents. How clever of you to vanish the wire in your photos. Every detail on this table is full of fun and inspiration. Seeing your wreaths around your plates makes me think of some I purchased with the thought of using them just in this way. My four are heart shaped. I should have done a table at Valentine's but just didn't get it done. Perhaps you table will inspire me to do something. LOL

  34. Phyllis, This is the most beautiful spring tablescape I have ever seen! I love all the fittering butterflies and the little masterpiece butterfly cakes! Oh, your attention to detail makes this scape a delight to see. And your "tablecloth" makes this garden theme over-the-top! I'm going back again to see every little thing... Once is not enough.

Thanks for stopping be and visiting. About my camera,I was using a little Sony Cybershot. I just love it. It is so easy, just point and shoot. And it has a macro setting. For Christmas my husband got me a Cannon Rebel with a couple of lenses. I am still learning how to use it. It is more camera than I need, but I can now shoot pictures that have a soft background. I have taken recent pictures on my blog with it. Hope this helps.
    Blessings,

Whimsical, charming, and delectable enough to make one squeal in delight...well..at least me! I get excited about things like this. It takes a lot of thought and practice and goodies AND a talented eye to do this sort of thing.

  46. My husband was thrilled at the Etsy shop. He even went to visit it to make sure I had one. :-) Poor guy lives in Dish City.

Even though it was sunny and in the 50s today, it was still too chilly to work outside. But after visiting you, I feel uplifted. This is the most gorgeous tablescape I have ever seen. Ever! I love your butterfly cakes, the butterflies, the lemonade, the dishes...I love it all. The view into your backyard was a balm.
