BIRD ON THE LOOSE

This sweet little hummingbird is not actually sitting on the perfect little perch, he is sitting on the pull cord for the garage door opener inside our garage...thats right he is totally thinking this is the perfect spot...
We were getting ready to go to dinner and Mr. S. was surprised to find 3 hummingbirds buzzing around inside the garage...they all found their way out, except this little one...he just could not get his directions right...
He finally decided to sit on top of the cabinets.  We went on to dinner and thought once we returned he would be so excited to get out of that garage, even though the side door was open, when we returned he was still sittin there totally confused...you could tell he had been running into things trying to figure it out...

If you look real carefully you will see this little red dot of blood on his beak where he has run into things trying to find his way out...so sad to watch...Now he just looked tired...
I thought it best to just leave the big door open and wait it out for awhile with him just to see if he could figure it out...the door opens up the whole side of the garage, it's a big space...
He has the most beautiful colors on his neck and back...I had a bit of time to study him  as I was waiting I think he has hurt his foot as well, he seems to be favoring it...

Oh his poor beak....he's such a brave little soul.....

You can see the red dot of blood from his beak  on the garage door cord to the right..

He has even mussed his head feathers...
Now he has found his way to the top of the garage door, then he just decided to land on the garage floor, exhausted, I am guessing...I put him in a plastic container and put him in the flowers in the front, he seemed so tired...after about an hour I had to go back, I thought if he was till there I would have to take action, I wanted to make sure he did not fall pray to a roaming cat, I put him in the plastic container and brought him to the back deck beside the den..I put in the container a couple of lids of sugar water, one he sat in and soaked his feet and the other one he delighted in sipping...he even let me stroke his beak with a little sugar water...so trusting...
After I stroked his back awhile and waited and waited,  all of a sudden he got up and flew into my den....oh no, here he is on the ceiling fan, he is feeling so much better...
I must tell you, Tina was such a lady, however she did notice him on the ceiling fan, like she couldn't believe what she was seeing, however she did not move...

Now you can see he has decided to sit on top of the chandy in the kitchen, nice and warm on those cold wet sticky feet I will bet you....he is lovin that....

After he warmed his feet awhile and rested some, he just decided to fly out the door...I sure hope I see him at the feeder tomorrow...I will let you know if he is back for breakfast...I will keep you posted on any further sightings of Mr. Hummer....

THE WAITING GAME

This is my new humming bird feeder...A Christmas gift from my friend Tiffany....I have hung it outside the kitchen window...I am usually not a hummingbird feeder kind of person because as you will see with all the flowers near this feeder, they have many options...so I will wait...

Still waiting for one to show up, I know they are out there, they love the flowers...so I wait...

OK I am getting a little tired of waiting for a picture of the birds, I will not be giving up though...

Oh do you see what I see on the left, is that a head that I see...YAY welcome....

OK your there now just have a little sip and your gonna love it...

MILK AND COOKIES

Some milk and cookies for my sweetie and some hot tea for you, come on in...This was an easy tablescape...the goal was no new purchases...yay...The heart napkins were the only new purchase, they are very similar to the other heart ones used in the previous post....both  were purchased  at TJ Maxx a couple of weeks ago...

Of course like everyone else I am obsessed with the sweet paper straws, wish I had all the colors, they make...lol..that would be a lot of straws...The straws were purchased on the internet last summer, red and pink.....
The sweet under napkin is white with a ruffly pink ruffle all around the edges...I purchased them  last year from TJ Maxx...the placemats I have used before at Easter time..always good when you want a touch of pink on your table...I have not purchased any new placemats in years....
This shot gives you a closer look at the sweetest milk bottles...If you are a follower of mine you have seen these before, usually with breakfast settings, I have six of them and a red carrier..the bottles are from the internet, (ebay)  then I stenciled the milk label on the bottle with glass paint...it was such a fun project,  they are washable and easy to use...I saw one of the chefs on TV use them, she made Lousiana milk punch..and put them on the Hor D' table...wow they were very successful, I am sure you can find the recipe on the internet...Wish I had one of those right now...
Oh no there is that bird bowl again, I told you it shows up at the darned times...The bird tea pot and cups with lids and napkin rings were purchased last year from Marshals, I think I will use them again this summer in the garden, they will fit in with all the birds...
You just know whenever I am setting up something, Tina always has her opinion, and is so interested in what is going on...

She stopped long enough to tell you exactly what she was thinking about the whole thing, she is not happy when there is too much going on and a lot of movement...she would be happy if I just slept all day with her...

She definitely has an opinion, can you tell...

Well, she is finished with the whole thing as you can see, she is off to the bedroom to find a place for a good nap...You can see the ruffly napkin during the set up, cute and unusual....

I have your hot tea ready, I know you would prefer a strawberry Margarita, but it is tea time ...lol....
This was an easy one...The cookies are from the grocery store...and the strawberry is from my faux food collection...so cool, it never melts from just sittin there...lol..I have the real ones I will use after shooting, can't wait...we're having an early special day...

We are going to enjoy our cookies and milk and I hope you enjoyed your visit...

Hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day, it doesn't take much to make someone feel special...hope you got some ideas and maybe were  inspired to create a little something ...and just enjoy your day..I love your comments and sure hope you can take the time to let me know what you think..Thanks for spending time around the house...

Valentine Baking YUMMY

Little cherry cakes, aren't they just the sweetest...I was inspired a couple of  years ago by Susan from Between naps on the porch, she made these sweet things only with a raspberry jam on top...The pan is from Michaels.  I bought it back then and had all intentions of making these pretty little things and it just did not happen, you know how that goes...well we're here now and since Mr. S. loves cherries, this is the perfect time to use these hearts...

I think the brand of the pan is Nordic, and if you use the 40% off coupon it's a pretty good deal...The heart cakes are a simple pound cake...I first spray the inside of the pan with Pam (baking) wow don't you just love that product..it oils and flours the pan in an easy spray, love it...The topping can be what ever you like, today I have chosen Comstock Cherry Pie filling....The beautiful cake plate was a gift from my friend Mary.

I thought a cherry Martini would be perfect with these little cakes...The bird bowl in the background, always seems to come out for romantic occasions...If you are a follower you will remember that I really wanted the italian bird bowl with the large white love birds sitting on the edge...I was just obsessed looking for that bowl, well when I finally found it, I couldn't believe it was 750.00.....I almost choked...lets say it together, bird bowl 750.00...hard to say without laughing...to hard to justify that kind of a purchase....

So I decided I could put together something that would satisfy my desire for this bowl...I found this large white bowl with flat sides at TJ Maxx and then I was on the prowl for the birds...so important that the white porcelain white tones match..I found them in a hospital gift shop and in a small antique mall in the city of Orange...I glued them on and have used this bowl  ever since, I love it as much now as when I put it together...and just think I saved 725.00 yayayayayay

You gotta love them, their watching the candles float by...

Let me assure you these do taste as good as they look...Mr. S. just devoured one of them....

If you are counting there use to be six of these little beauties, see how they just disappear even while I am taking the pictures...

Well you can't blame us, it is such a treat to have desserts .....lol

The crystal goes with all the other sparkly things on the table for a fun playful look....

come on Mr. S. lets get started on this martini, it is not gonna drink it's self you know....lol

This one is for you my sweet....

They love the candles flickering in the evening, and the pretty pink and red hearts in the bottom of the bowl....makes for the perfect night light.

Hope your getting some ideas for your special Valentine.....

Yummy..................
