AUTUMN DINNER

.

The tablecloth and napkins are from Marshals..

There is nothing like a little bubbly to begin a celebration....I received the ice bucket from Pottery Barn as a birthday gift from some special friends, I think it adds a special touch...

The filigree pale green Salad plates I found a couple of years ago at Home Goods.

The Large dinner plates are from Marshals I found 3 years ago...

The place mats are from Cost Plus.....

The Congac and the red wine are from my faux drink collection....

The green leaves I found at Michaels and were 50% off. I bought 3 large stems.

The Champagne glasses are my favorite from Pottery Barn.....

This candle holders I believe are fostoria glass and belonged to my mother, I love the elaborate design.....

Just a little sparkle is always good ...

The name tag on the stem of the pumpkin, I actually cut from the bottom of a (to go) menu....

I liked the colors and I thought they would blend in nicely.....They are actually pictures of baked bread........
I sure would have liked to have more large acorns with caps, where oh where to find them, hard to even purchase, I saw someone selling them on line from a google search, wow...I guess I am not the only one looking........

Isn't it great when things come together ....

The Decanters are from Ross. I use them as individuals at each place setting for water refils or sometimes one per couple. They can be lemonade or even Sangria, it's always charming and unique when you have your own...I love that the top screws down tight with a seal....it's an unusual fun touch that everyone comments on and seems to appreciate....I really like using things in a different way then it's original purpose I think it adds that litte extra something to each placesetting and makes it more special.....

I love the acorns in the large candle holders........

Have a wonderful celebration ......

HAVE SOME warm WONDERFUL AUTUMN DINNERS......

Please leave a comment. I read every one and appreciate you taking the time to visit AROUND THE HOUSE..... Thank you so much Susan@betweennapsontheporch for hosting....

AUTUMN IS HERE...

Autumn is here with a rush of colors that can't be ignored.
Every store is full of orange and gold and rust.....NOTICE I SAID STORES, NOT OUTSIDE, not in Ca.
Welcome and please enjoy...my new SEASONAL COLORS.....

After shopping at Michaels for an hour, I finally came up with some beautiful fall colors. These sunflowers that coordinate with some of the things I already have...
Now it was time to make a wreath..Sorry I should have taken pictures during process, next time...

I really love the feathers, don't they just add that little bit of a fox hunt feel....

WOW ! ! ! I admit I am getting used to the colors....

well I told you it was going to be hard for me to get into the whole fall frame of mind.

After all we are in sunny Southern Ca. and it was 95 degrees here today...... it is hard to think about anything except how to stay cool.....

I knew I just needed a little more inspiration. Thanks to all of you for sharing all the creativity.....

You cannot stay in the summer mode after viewing the beautiful Autumn colors of these sunflowers...

I hope something here inspires you to get your Autumn colors out of storage and start creating...
Wreath making is such a fun project for fall....

I am preparing for Tablescape Thursday with Susan @Betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com
Thank you for visiting Around the House Please leave a comment, I read them all and I so appreciate each and every one...

Master Bedroom Makeover

Not that the bedroom wasn't pretty.

It just needed a little pizazz....

Just a little fresher look with a little pop of color...

A change of bedding and some bright touches did the trick....

You gotta have a place to just rest....

I love the wreath in the center of the iron bed frame, what do you think....

I made this pillow from a white fluffy rug I found at Marshals for 14.00.
It makes the perfect pillow cover to add a little fluff.. View outside bedroom window...

This is a side angle of the baywindow view to the back yard. Love the black and white fabric and the pop of pink........

Pink Pink Pink...

Flowers for my husband Michael................. Flowers for me......

ohhhh

I loved finding fabric that matches the plates that I hung on the wall...

Can you tell where Tina the kitty thought she would have a little nap.....on the bed.....
This bust looks exactly like my grandaughter Brittany.....
I should be cleaning the windows instead of taking pictures.....but this is way more fun...

The cover for the bench I made from heavy white cotton and can be removed and washed...Don't you just love useable, washable easy care things.....me too....

knew I should be cleaning those windows....

Can you tell I like Pillows

Someone is where they are not supposed to be...too soft to resist I guess.......

Who me....Meow.......
This is all about me you know.....

Thank you for visiting Around the House

Seascape Tablescape

This is my Version of Seascape Tablescape. You'll notice that I didn't use silverware in this tablescape, I know I should, I was just to lazy to dig it out, maybe next time.

The large jars are actually sangria jars that are fabulous to fill for parties and were purchased at HomeGoods for under $10.00 each. The aqua glass plates are $3.99 each at Marshall's. The metal baskets that I use for candle holders on top of each plate, are $3.99 each at Marshall's as well.

I'm always on the lookout for unusual, creative and inexpensive pieces to top my place settings......I love model homes and they always have the most creative tablescapes....
This is a fun way to put place cards, bottles are from cost plus....

This is one of my faux cocktails, it is made of resin and you can just put the whole thing in the dish water to wash, so cool, great
Love the aqua beachy feel...
