CHICKS AND EGGS

I have used some of my depression glass collection in this post.  The yellow glasses are from my friend Mary and the short pink glasses are from a lemonade set that belonged to my sister Bobby...There is a large platter in the center along with a pretty butter dish that also belonged to my sister Bobby...She always loved my tablescaping and would be the first to offer up anything she owned to add to any table.  I like to think as a big sister she was very proud of me...There is  a sugar and creamer I believe was also a gift from my friend Mary...these are just some of the pieces from a collection of many that I have used before..

The white charger is from Maryland glass company....The cute little casserole dishes are from Pfaltzgraff I purchased last year on line from their co....they have so many pretty little things...The green cabbage plates are Bordallo Pinheiro...they make great salad plates and also are so versatile they are wonderful for bringing to a garden like setting with their wonderful green leafy look...

These napkins I believe are from Pottery Barn and were purchased 2 years ago along with the napkin rings that are from a thrift store, I always liked the spring colors and the simple design.....
I have 4 of these little pink flower plates from the Goodwill many years ago...love their unusual design...
I sure got my moneys worth from these cookie chicks, they are from Albertsons in the bakery department and I just thought they were the sweetest ever.....I have already used them in 3 tablescapes,.The cookies were the only things that I purchased for this tablescape...yay for me...

If you are a follower of mine you probably have seen these place mats 20 times, they are so fun to use cause they have all the perfect colors and they are all a different pastel check...

This is a closer look of the sweet butter dish that was my sister Bobbys...she kept it  in her cabinet beside the dinner table, it was always with the pink lemonade set and I had always loved it all....My mom had already given me the pretty yellow lemonade set, so showing the pink pieces changes it up a little...
You can see the different colors in the place mats from this shot, there is pink, green, yellow and blue, what could be more perfect, plus they are washable

The wreath around the bunny's neck is from the Goodwill along with the Happy Easter sign from I can't remember...had to have it cause of the chick on the sign, maybe Big Lots...
Creating Easter springtime tables are fun and creative, I think I love the ones with the big fat chicks the best, so hard to find them....I like the bunnies too...

Thanks for indulging me this last Easter tablescape..it was a fun one and I loved using these little cassarole dishes, (I think they are really candy dishes) oh well I think I will use them for fruit compote...

Thank you so much for stopping by, hope you leave a comment, love hearing from you and I read each one...Don't forget to check out Will and Grace on my side bar and see what they are up to, they need some followers and I know you all will give them a boost...Keep a look out for their next episode when it is Grace's birthday...boy can those birds woop it up....I am joining The Tablescaper  between naps on the porch   tabletoptuesday  mariaelenasdecor   savvysouthernstyle

LEMON TEA AND BEES

Ahhh a hot cup of tea with some fresh lemon, who could resist....and the sweet lemon chickie cookies....

Aren't these the cutest sweetest napkins, with the pretty bees and the edging of the dark yellow...perfect for our tea today and some chit chat...

I am having a debate with myself over the pansies for this table, I know they are not right, just am not sure or if I am just getting tired...lol
The Tea set was a gift from my daughter Michelle a few years ago, I loved them then as I do now...they have the most wonderful bees on the handle of the cup and the tea pot , they are from Harry and Davids......

You can see the bee on the top of the tea pot handle, love the way it is just sitting there as your pouring the tea....
It is one of those cooler days, not much sunshine and just a little chill in the air, the simple color of yellow seems to warm you to the bones even though we hadn't tasted the tea yet... The napkins are from William Sonoma and the Bee napkin rings are from Cost Plus...............
The Bee flatware is from Neiman Marcus, I purchased a couple of years ago and have used with so many table scapes, ...

I love all the pretty yellow and white, don't you think it fits for this time of year and some honey and bees?

I think it is time to taste those wonderful cookies with some hot tea and lemon...I always think breakfast and tea drinking should always be done by a window so the sun can come shining in...

Those bees on the napkins are so detailed, I thought I would show you them up close...
Are you a fan of yellow?
You can't seem to get rid of the the bunnies, not this time of year anyway, they are everywhere......

AHHH there  is that bee on the top of the tea pot handle, just hanging out so cute.
Looks like I have changed my mind on the floral arrangement to a quieter white and I have taken the pansies to the other side of the kitchen......If you get a chance, please visit the post on my sidebar near the top, it is a soap opera called Will and Grace, and you will see a picture of two birds.... it's about 2 birds that go to the diner outside my window..have a look.....what do you think?
Thank you so much for joining me for cookies and tea and some sunshine...Please leave a comment and if you have any questions I promise to answer as soon as possible...

BE A PANSY

I always forget just how pretty pansies are...if you forget too, this post is for you, there are pansies everywhere...
These are so lovely and paired with
the pale pink glasses, wow, they
are amazing..
The soft pink stemmed glasses are from Italy and were purchased from a thrift store, very inexpensive..I think they could be used as a sherbet glass or any kind of a dessert, but today they are just pink glasses...
I love the way the short pansy  glasses look like window panes....I purchased these 4 glasses and 4 plates from the GW 2 years ago and I think they were 5.00 or 6.00  for the whole set, I thought they were perfect for summer, spring and even Easter....
The individual plants are a simple 6 pk from the Armstrong nursery and I potted them in the cups that go to the fondue set...not like we're gonna use the fondue set this month...funny how fondues were a hot item, then out, then kinda back in...not all the way in though...lol

The tiny little white plates under the plants  I purchased in a stack for 2.00 at the GW.

When I am doing these tablescapes, it always strikes me that there is  a mixture of old and new, great bargains mixed with gifts and purchases from the past and a few that are new, I  hope they blend  together making it look interesting and inviting...
The napkins, I have used many times, they are from the old Linens and Things...I liked that store, too bad they had to close...
When the mailman comes to the door to deliver the mail, the window is right there and I am sure he thinks I am nuts, always setting a table...

Do you see the sweet little lady bug on the pansy  plate, I  love the attention to detail in so many of my  plates....can you tell I love dishes... my mom was the same way... she loved cups and saucers and pretty plates..she also liked silverware and depression glass....I did not begin tablescaping until long after she passed away, she would have loved it...I can just hear her saying, use these, use these, add these...no, it needs more color..now you got it...lol...it makes me smile cause I know  she is  smiling...watching me play with the dishes....

I still say this could be a stained glass window, what do you think?  I set the plants to the side on the plate so you could see the wonderful pansies on the  plates...
The basket chargers are from Pier 1... I purchased them a couple of  years ago, they are so well made  I use them often...and they still look like new....The cute flatware is from Ross....

These sweet little tin water cans are
from Pottery Barn, just the cutest
napkin rings, I think I will use them
this summer in the patio for a little
garden luncheon.....yay   I may have used them last summer, I might have to go back and check....The cloche is actually a cheese board cover...on a cake plate....
I hope this little Pansy table gives you some inspiration...I am still on my quest not to purchase new things for the tablescapes...the plants of course don't count, they will go in the pots outside...I will also be doing a posting of my backyard in the summer, I know many of you have ask me to show more of it last year and I just didn't get around to doing it...

The cute little orange flower is peeping his head out, what a perfect  pop of color...

The large tray in the center of the table is from Marshals last year.  I change the items on the tray and I usually just keep it there to kinda keep things corralled...

Thank you for stopping Around the House for a little visit and see these pretty flowers, I hope you were inspired to bring the outdoors in and get some spring...Go ahead be a Pansy....

YOU GOTTA LOVE THE COLORS

Easter is on it's way...  I thought I would change  up the colors a bit, usually there would be a lot of pink and blue and mint green ... I was so inspired by J Bigg's little pieces   Blog...she did a tablescape in these colors a couple of weeks ago and I just melted,  especially since I had added  pictures and pillows in those colors already, this would be perfect...so I was off through the house hunting up my tablescape color items....
I think  that is what I love about so many  of the blogs I read, they just inspire me to create . Do you ever feel inspired to get up and just create, like bake that dish or decorate that shelf or share that collection, or do that tablescape...whatever suits your fancy....
Once again I am so proud of the fact that I did not buy any new pieces for this table scape.  I am on this quest to try and use the things I have and not purchase items for the table... I remembered I had these Orange napkins I found for Halloween and never used...lol..The dishes aqua and white you will remember from this post   then I actually saw these napkins that coordinated so perfectly...

The small plates the bunny sits on are from Pier 1 about 3 years old...The larger orange plates are from Marshals many years ago, again I just did not get around to using, even though I loved the color so much..

The carrots on the tray in the center of the table are part of my faux food collection, they are cute cute...
These tiny little orange and yellow flowers are from my pots on the side of the house....I know I know, a lot of you are deep into the snow (I love snow) where you live, but this is sunny Southern California and we have flowers in bloom all year....color is always everywhere and there is always something in bloom....just remember though you have to maintain all that all year, you don't get a reprieve in the winter...we think it is worth it though..
These flowers were around where all the birdhouses are located, it's called the bird place, do you have a space like that in your area, I like to keep all the feeders and houses so I can see them from the kitchen window..
You can see the big giant teapot I have used to put the flowers in...I think it makes a nice vase.........

I love these sweet napkin rings, I found them at the GW and there were 8 of them in a plastic bag for 3.99...could you believe that...they are originally from Pottery Barn..I can only guess how much they were there.....such a fun find...

The little glass domes actually have glass stands they come with and were very inexpensive from Ross..I love them because they are so versitile you can use the little domes for many different tablescapes or with the glass holder...

These cute little bunny stands are from Pottery Barn, I purchased last year when I spotted them on Susan @betweennapsontheporch blog...they also have a cake stand that coordinates, but I sure don't need any more cake plates, I have way too many now...I never got a chance to use these little fellas last year, so this is my chance...they have them available again this year...sooocute

I know you must be thinking, wow this post has a lot of pictures, well you are right, couldn't decide which ones to use so I put all of them up lol...just indulge me...
You are able to see the pictures on the wall  and pillows from this angle and how well they coordinate with the colors in the tablescape..

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time around the house...I hope you were inspired to create your own fun Easter table...Leave a comment please, I love hearing from you and I read each and everyone...
