Don't forget to turn your music up there are a couple of songs that may be familiar......
Well, it's that time of year again, sunshine, popcorn, peanuts, carmel corn and cherry cokes, what could be better than BASEBALL.....
This tablescape was inspired by these wonderful salt and pepper shakers, then of course these small baseball salad plates that were found later....both are from Marshals....
YUMMY popcorn......The coke glasses are from Dollar Tree....
The napkin rings are rubber balls from the Dollar store......Mr. S. was nice enough to drill large holes in them for my napkins.....the place card stands are tiny rubber balls from the party store that I cut a slit into for the name tags....the tags I drew and cut out from a brown paper bag...I'm sure you all remember the green astro turf from the Easter setting, I love the way the cut out areas make you think of bases, especially with the wooden chargers......
The small popcorn maker was a great find from my friend Mary, she discovered it is a tiny little thrift shop, 3.99 what a deal and it actually works......I thought I might even use it for movie night .....
The napkins are from Christmas and fit just right with all the red white and blue.....
You knew you would be seeing this bicycle again and doesn't it just seem just right for the season....I have to finish this post so Mr. S. can eat all the peanuts, and carmel corn....
Tina was not interested in the whole setting up thing, I think she sees the fluffy gray cat outside and has to visit for awhile....She does love this windowseat......
Enjoy the pictures and I hope they bring back some fun old memories for you too....
This was such a fun tablescape to do, I really wanted the table to be a salute to the game.....
I hope you all enjoyed yourself and maybe got some creative ideas for a tablescape of your own. .......now LETS PLAY BALL.......
Thank you Susan between naps on the porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday...... Phyllis
Tis darling! You did a great job and like the color theme.

Phyllis, as usual you have produced a wonderful table. I would just love to come to America and go to a baseball game. I can feel the atmosphere when I see it on the telly.

Now THIS is a FUN tablescape! My boys would have loved this when they were younger...and probably even today. The sound accompanying it is perfect! You know...even my 91 yr old mom (who is watching the Tampa Bay Rays game as I write) would get a big kick out of this. Well done...very creative!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a darling, clever table! I spotted those baseballs holding the napkins right away and thought, "Where on earth did she find THOSE??" Then I read about your sweet hubby drilling holes in rubber balls for you! Now THAT is attention to detail! You really hit a homerun with this table! And now I'm craving Cracker Jacks at 5:15 a.m.!

I have the same popcorn popper and never in a million years would have thought of using it with a tablescape! It's precious! You are just too good. I always smile when I come to see you - that painting of the kitty peeping over the frame makes me think he's spying on you! :)

Phyllis- Who's On First... This is the best tribute to the game of baseball and the boys of summer! What a fantastic table!
ReplyDeleteYour attention to detail is a homerun! I love the ball napkin holders, and the popcorn boxes (my favorite food)!
I love the astroturf and the wooden chargers that look like bases. You really did the most spectacular job!
The baseball caps look like they have been casually tossed on the table by the players themselves. Adorable! I'm just waiting for the food vender to come by.
This table is a perfect game, a shut out, a grand slam!!!
Yvonne
Wonderful! I am a Tablescaper "wannabe". I have a long way to go but so enjoy looking at the wonderful offerings out there. I LOVE that cat artwork on your wall. It brought a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteWe live in an area with two major baseball teams (White Sox and Cubs) so it's always interesting during the season.
Best,
Bonnie
Phyllis, this table setting is so much fun. I love all of the little details. This was even more fun than a real baseball game. (And, not outside in all that brutal heat.)
ReplyDeleteFun, Fun, fun! Full of great details and so creative! I love it!

OH MY WORD< HOW CUTE!!!! My daughter is mildly Autistic and she is CRAZY over baseball and she went berserk and now wants a table setting like this for her hope chest. She's 26 and I'm hoping she'll find someone who is as crazy over baseball as she is or he'll just be miserable. Thanx for sharing!

I LOVE this table!!! I am a huge baseball fan and even my british husband has become addicted to it. You may start a baseball trend across American tables! You didn't say if you have a favorite team. We are Cubs fans (I know, I know-someday!!). I'll have to work on a "Cubs" table with our memorabilia...thanks for the inspiration. It's adorable!!
