The 4th of July and we are all ready for a few fireworks, although they are not allowed in our city, we can still see some beautiful displays that are close enough and we can almost see Disneyland's display, hooray for the red white and blue...
The buckets on each place setting are from the GW and were .49 each, perfect for holding the sparkly sticks.... The little candy mints are from the Dollar Tree....
Looks like Mr. S has not taken the plastic off the TV....he likes to put it on when not in use in
the evening....I think that is Uncle Sam that just drove up, watch out for the glasses.....
I have used these glasses several times, only this time I loved the red white and blue sparkly three dimensional star stickers......The straws with the fun sparkly frills are from Pier 1....
I love the pretty blue glass plates, they have bowls and salad plates with the set.....today I have used the famous white Gollum salad plates .....of course you gotta have suckers, you will remember them from the Ballgame table scape, Mr. S. hasn't eaten these yet.....
This table scape is a lot like Memorial Day only more noise, more sparkle and pizazz...I would have loved to have sparklers at each setting and a lot of shooting stars in the background, but
alas, that was not to be, they are not for sale yet so we will just have to pretend......
I remember when I was growing up it was so exciting to save our change and wait and wait until we had a whole dollar then go down to the fireworks stand and buy as much as we could with our money.....we would just kept saving our stash of sparklers and spray cones and snakes and the twirly things that you nail to the tree....it was all so exciting when the night finally came and my dad would line up everything and make sure we sat on the curb so he could light them in the street ( you know they make such a mess)....then all the oohs and ahhhhs, what a feast for the eyes and don't forget the whole clean up ritual....aaahhhhhh for the good old days.....Mr. S. finally took over those duties when the children were small............then they finally banned the sale in our town....boo hoo
The old tool box was a great find some time ago, it has a drawer and works perfect for napkins, extra flatware and mints...... The other wine glasses with the blue stems are from GW and were .25 cents each.....
This is a better shot of the sparkly stars on the glasses, I don't think you can have too much sparkly, do you? The bowls for the ice cream are from TJMaxx and I love the size...
You have seen the Pottery Barn Napkins, purchased a couple of years ago on sale...they are available now only in a more cream color instead of white.....
We all have our warm blankets to keep cozy and we're ready for the sun to go down, come on we're ready......
SPARKLY SPARKLY.......
Aha, lets light those candles, there goes the sun ......
Have a happy and safe 4th of July. I hope your enjoyed your visit and got to reminisce about some of your holiday memories.....Please leave a comment, I read them all and enjoy hearing from you.....Thanks to Susan at between naps on the porch for hosting Table scape Thursday....
