Christmas Bird Pond
Have you ever been just obsessed with an idea of a creation and it won't go away until you've been able to achieve it....
Well thats the way it was with the white birds in the pond...
Of course I could not find the flamboyant larger white doves, I love them with their feathers all up...but I do love the little ones I did find...what do you think??
I saw them last year in a post from susan with betweennapsontheporch
from Valentines Day... wow I was so impressed with that beautiful bowl...
The Dove bowl was so amazing...it was just so beautiful...
But of course after finally finding where I could purchase a Dove Bowl...the price was literally hundreds of dollars....well I just had to create my own...I actually would have purchased it, but when I said it out loud...I could not get it to make sense to me...
I found this large white bowl with a flat round rim....now just gotta find the birds...
Looking looking for white birds everywhere...they must be the same sort of white tone as the bowl...it was a soft pillowy white...
Ahhhhh finally I found three that I thought would work...they were at a antique store in Orange, Ca. $10.00 for all three...
You are going to notice this post is loaded with pictures...sorry...just got carried away....
I finally found a forth bird of all places in a hospital gift shop...who knew...
For Christmas I have placed a wreath around the bowl....It looks like the birds have found their way through the bushes to find the water...lol
I attached the birds to the bowl with gorilla glue....not too much because it swells...just a small amount...I glued some closer to the water and some back a bit...
The floating poinsettia flowers are a gift shop find...
My total investment for the bowl would be under $25.00...not bad huh
Well my obsession is complete and over...can't wait until Valentines Day and maybe some pink heart floating candles will be great.
Candles always add the magic touch...
I told you there were alot of pictures...
Oh they are all so happy together now....
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit, leave a comment and let meknow about your obsession..Phyllis .I am attaching to Susan betweennapsontheporch met monday....

Hi Phyllis!
ReplyDeleteThe bird bath dish is wonderful. I know how hard it is to match white ceramics and china. The hunt is half the fun but there comes a point when I sometimes wonder it it would just be easier to but the actual piece I am trying to replicate! I am so glad you were able to succeed.
I love Christmas vignettes that are unexpected :)
