This picture and shelf with a cup is located on the wall between the eatting area and the den...
I think it fills the wall space nicely and I love the way the picture resembles the precious little cup...
If you look carefully you can see the cute little butterfly on the flowers...
Coffee would be good in this precious little cup...
The tattered little shelf is perfect for the cute little coffee cup...
The cup was from a little antique shop in Orange, Ca. There was only one and
thats all I really needed.....
I can't remember where I purchased the picture.....I do love the simple lines...
Although I love the cup and believe it would be perfect for my daily cup of coffee.....
These are my new Christmas coffee cups from my friend Mary.....They are from the Pottery Barn and I love the shape the size and the feel of my wonderful new cups....
The numbers stand for Feb. 28, 1949, thats the date the store opened and don't you love the fact that it is 14 oz.......me too....Yep I'll remember the old cups, but I think I'll use the new ones .....Which ones will you use......
Thanks for stopping by and hanging AROUND THE HOUSE. Please leave a comment so I know you were here...I read and enjoy all of your responses...Just click on the word comments and leave a message... Phyllis

ReplyDeleteI know that I have already mentioned before how much I like your wallpaper. Is it pale yellow and white? The colors in that room are so soft and pretty.
I was also very impressed with your fabulous dish storage in your garage that you shared a few posts back.

I came back to look at more of your blog. I really like your style! Thank you for following my blog. I'm new but I will get the hang of it soon! And thanks for the lovely comments you left for me.
ReplyDeleteYour picture, shelf, and cup are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI would love tea in your pretty little shelf cup; but give me the 14oz.cup for my coffee.
Very nice display with the dainty coffee cup. Might I suggest a small, old book to set the cup and saucer on? I think that would add just the warm touch it needs. JMHO. -shirl
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, I love the simplicity of a single cup..and how you showcased that pretty little cup. I love the flowers and butterfly motiff, so soft and sweet...now I'm off to get some coffee in my favorite mug! Good morning!

How simple but BEAUTIFUL! I have a collecrion of tea cups and saucers from an Aunt. They are all beautiful with different designs on each one. I don't drink coffee but I would drink my hot chocolate in the BIG cup!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeletePS, I keep forgetting to tell you: I got the Baking Chef Santa from Kohl's too! I LOOOOVE him. I also got the Gingerbread house luminary from BBand Beyond that sits next to him, and I LOVE it too!!!!!
ReplyDeletePhyllis,
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly coffee cup and saucer on the shelf is so sweet and delicate. It looks nice against the striped wallpaper. Since I run on coffee the 14 oz. version would suit me just fine. I noticed I have the same plates as your blue ones from an earlier post only in yellow.
Cathy
I saw those cups at Pottery Barn and loved them. Of course I have so many cups and mugs now that I didn't think they could come home with me...but, they really wanted to. Love your picture as well.
ReplyDeleteSue
I love that print and it looks perfect in this space. And the little teacup is precious, but yeah, I gotta have a BIG cup for my coffee, especially in the mornings!!
ReplyDeleteHave a grea day!
Lou Cinda
The perfect little cup and saucer for your little shelf...love the picture. But...when I have my morning cup of black coffee to get me rolling, it has to be a large mug, please!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!~ Being a coffee lover, I am sitting here enjoying a cuppa right now! Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Phyllis, every single pic is just delicious! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBarb ♥
The little teacup and picture go great together. I love your new Pottery Barn mug too.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things is a picture with a shelf below it mimicking the picture! That cup is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh Phyllis! I am so happy that you stopped by my new blog, because that led me to check out yours, and I just got the most wonderful inspiration for two shelves I bought at the Salvation Army last summer. They are tiny, like yours with your tea cup and saucer on them! One was a silver and black finish, one was gold, both are plastic. But I sprayed them Heritage White and all is well in my world. Now I know what I am going to do with them! Next thrift store trip: Teacups and Saucers! Thank you so much my new friend!
