loved the blue dishes, remember I put two on the wall and I was going to go back and get the dinner plates.... You knew I just had to put something on this table, right.....
Well I just kept thinking how much I might really use the blue dishes. I decided on the same design only in white with the blue salad plates on top. The plates are from TJ Maxx and were I think 3.00 each..
The small porcelain birds are from Germany are very old and they belonged to my mom, there are four of them and they are each posed in a different position... The large flower container is a pitcher from Home Goods and a Christmas or birthday gift from my friend Mary...
The small jar is full of silver spoons, it is usually by the coffee maker I thought it looked sweet on the table...,it is a great way to display your silver spoons and actually use them to stir coffee with cream and sugar...
The glasses are from Marshals and actually were cheaper then the dollar tree...could you believe that.....
That is a pie plate with the dome I got at Pier 1 many years ago and I use it for cookies, pie, bread and even danish and muffins, love the pie dish.....
It has just been pouring raining here for the last couple of days...I hope it lets up soon...I shouldn't complain to you all with the snow and bad weather out there that you have to deal with.
These flowers sure do cheer up this space with this dreary weather, hows a girl suppose to shop and browse around town in this kind of weather....
This one looks like he is getting ready to tweet a pretty little song...
This one looks like he is getting ready to tweet a pretty little song...
I knew he was ready to tweet.....
Some of the little silver spoons are small soup spoons some are teaspoons and some are little sugar scoops......they are all mismatched and kind of interesting...... the votive candle holders are from Crate and Barrel, on sale of course.....
I think the different textures of the charger and the dishes makes for an interesting look...
You gotta have a little sparkle....I always wish I could have the lights down low and have the candles lit and it would look so romantic....somehow when I do it, it always looks like I didn't pay the electric bill and we have emergency light from the candles.....
Thanks for stopping by, you know I love it when you hang AROUND THE HOUSE...Please leave a comment, I love hearing from you and I read them all.....I have a new button and would love for you to pick it up.....Thanks Susan @between naps on the porch for hosting today....
Phyllis this is just beautiful girl...Love the white trim on the plates and how awesome with those sweet tweets on each plate...NOM hold everything you got those glasses cheaper than Dollar tree??? Be still my heart girl..love the ironstone pitcher with the flowers oh I love it all...Your home and taste is just beautiful girl...You have that special touch in all you do...Thanks for some great photos...Hope you don't drown girl..I have snow right now and it's colder than a witch's &$# up here ha ha!! Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

This is just so alluring, Phyllis....whisper soft pale blues combined with those GORGEOUS white plates! Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI smile every time I see your kitty cat picture, too. :D He looks like he's got his eye on those birdies. LOL
Looks beautiful, Phyllis! I love your little birds and the dishes look great. Probably a good idea to go with white, although I love that blue, too. I saw a lovely set of white dishes with a raised design on the edge at Goodwill this past weekend. I thought about getting them, but didn't. Maybe I'll go back.
ReplyDeleteYou never disappoint Phyllis! I just adore hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty table -- love the colors and I like putting the spoons in the jars -- I like using "things"! And what a great way to display them!

ReplyDeletePhyllis, you have set a beautiful table! I love the birds, and your chargers remind me a bit of a bird's nest. It's all so pretty together. I've got some of those same blue dishes. If you get the chance, come visit me next week for Metamorphosis Monday. I'm planning a little project with the blue plates.

Beautiful tablescape. Your birds are a treausure. Would like to know about your pearl handled silverware. It worked perfectly with the rest of your table. So refreshing after all the Chrismas Reds and Greens. I'm ready for change.

Hi. I found your blog today (through Susan's Between Naps on the Porch) and just had to explore more after seeing my plate hanging on your wall in your header. :-) I recently WON (yes WON) a bedroom makeover from a local designer and we used these same plates (among a similar set, same color) on the wall above my headboard. (I have a little photo album here: http://picasaweb.google.com/SuzieMaus/0ABEDREVEAL?authkey=Gv1sRgCNnlnqPB3sbqkgE&feat=directlink
ReplyDeleteOr here's link to Black-eyed Susan's blog post about it: http://besusan.blogspot.com/2010/01/bedroom-makeover-reveal.html
You have an beautiful blog and amazing talent for tablescaping. Thanks!
Best,
Suzanne
P.S. I'm not sure if that was proper commenting protocol to post those links in there. ??? My apologies if it was not.
