Its Springtime, and that always means spring cleaning and reorganizing...I thought the bedroom needed a little freshening...I was surprised how fast it all went...I chose not to paint for now, just some new bedding, a new throw and I changed out the end tables, click on the link below and you will see the room before when I did a little make over...wow can you believe it has been that long...
My daughter Gina took them home and sanded them down and professionally sprayed and then waxed them...she changed the knobs and brought them back...they fit so perfectly beside the bed...she is so talented, I love how they turned out...you'll remember one side of the bed had a table with a white cloth on top...difficult to keep clean...
We all know she is not suppose to be here...what can you do...
I think she likes to see herself in the mirror and at the same time be able to see outside...I have had the two large pictures over the bed for years...they are from Pottery Barn, I love them because they have a wooden back to change out the prints with what ever you like, could be material, wrapping material, special photos...I selected these two coral prints to coordinate with the room....
The bedding as well as the throw are from Home Goods...the two round mirrors on the wall are also from Home goods...
You can see where the painter has not finished the painting and cleaning the paint off the windows...ugh
You can see I kept a few of the aqua elements like a couple of pillows and a throw and of course the lovely little covered dish that was my moms...it is in the perfect place to drop off a pair of earrings...it has a seashell design all over it...so sweet...
Have a seat and take it easy.....
Cozy window reading seat, perfect for an afternoon get away.....You've gotta love this fluffy coral throw, it is the softest most lush one I have, another Home Goods purchase.......
I have added some coral and aqua towels to the master bath to just coordinate with the bedroom, an easy fix...
Just some simple touches make all the difference for a fresh spring look....
Nothing better then starting the day off in a freshened up bathroom...
Thank you for visiting around the house, I love having you stop in and hope you will leave me a comment and let me know how what you think...
Really pretty..........Love the fresh colors.........and puss cat completes the look of course !!!

I think you did a FABulous job to the rooms, w/o spending a ton of money! The changes, though not drastic, are beautiful and the color palette, refreshing. I'm not one for a total farmhouse look or grain-sacking everything, so your style suits me to a T! What a score on the 2 nightstands, they turned out gorgeous! I love finding a post of yours in my in-box... keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI love the color you chose and the graphic prints~the dresser side tables are quite amazing, wow! looks like a great retreat and I love the white chandy!

Hi Phyllis,
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Love all your spring touches to your beautiful master bedroom! The coral throw is such a lovely complement to the patterned bedding, as well as the perfect contrast to the aqua in the room. I can't believe how lucky you were re: the night tables - $7/each - the deal of the century!! I am enchanted by that lovely window seat, and the way that it is curtained for extra privacy and quiet; so serene. Your cooridinating master bath is also very fresh and vibrant and the two together make for a marvellous makeover!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
Poppy
Good grief! What a beautiful room!!! When I first looked at the photo with the mirrored closet doors, I thought there were TWO beds in there a la 1950s television programming!!! I need to get my eyes checked! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am 100% enamoured with the wood floors in the bedroom!!! I cannot get my husband to understand how cool that would be! He's so stuck in the 1960s it's pitiful!!! You'd think wall-to-wall carpet had just been introduced to the world!
The color scheme in here is gorgeous, and you have great touches throughout! I like the idea of the wooden backs on the artwork so you can change out the art!!! Why don't ALL stores do that with frames??? It makes so much sense to me! But then they'd lose money...bottom line, I suppose.
Your daughter has a VERY special talent! What a wonderful pair of night tables!!! They look brand spanking new and are perfect for the space! Ideas are rolling around in my head right now, but I know I'd never take the time to refinish the wood like she did.
Beautiful! Enjoy your newly freshened bedroom, and have a very Happy Easter weekend!
Phyllis,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors, and detail. I adore your choice of patterns and your decorating style is delightful and refreshing!
Happy Easter!
Jemma
What a gorgeous makeover! I love the color.
ReplyDeleteHave a delightfully lovely Easter.
Your bedroom is truly stunning. I love how fresh it looks, and the color combo of coral and blue is lovely. Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Phyllis-
ReplyDeleteWhat size are the frames above your bed (as well as the size of the opening to change pictures, inside)? I looked on PB's website, but want to make sure I'm ordering ones the size of yours.
Thx!
The frames are actually meant for a wedding where the bride and groom are in picture and everyone signs around the edges...they were 100.000 each and I have had them for years...you can pretty much get the size, our bed is a ca. king and each picture is about half the bed...too big to get off wall and measure...sure hopes this helps...
Deletepretty nice blog, following :)
ReplyDeleteSo bright and cheery and gorgeous! I love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look of the bedroom. Gina did a great job on the tables!! Minnina
ReplyDeleteThanks Minnina...those tables are great aren't they, couldn't believe such a great find.....at that price, they sure hold a lot of bedside junk lol
DeleteI love the new look and those headboards are spectacular! I'm looking for twin Jenny Lind headboards to do my granddaughters' room. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThose are pictures not headboards, the headboard is a wrought iron headboard....thanks anyway hope you find your headboards.
DeletePhyllis! Where have you been? I've missed you! I'm still enjoying your beautiful bedroom and bathroom though! Thanks so much for popping in to see me and we are looking so forward to our adventure. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
B E A U T I F U L !!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and the window seat.
Phyllis, It's been so long since I've been over here. I've missed seeing your fab posts. Your bed and bath look beautiful. I love the coral color. It's so fresh, and I'd feeling like I was sleeping in a beautiful beach home. Your daughter did a great job on the tables. Now why can't I have a daughter who can and will paint my furniture? laurie

This is such a pretty comforter! Love how the coral color is used throughout the room! The chair looks so inviting and what girl wouldn't want to adorn the bust with their favorite necklaces'!

LOVE the coral ans aqua combo, SOpretty. The whole room looks beautiful, can't believe what a GREAT find the bedside tables were!!! Hope my comment on your 4th table went through, I got an error report???
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty room and I like how the colour goes into the bathroom. I admired the night tables right away and I am shocked that you got them for that price. Score!
