If you follow this blog you know we have just finished a little project I like to call enlightening this room..after removing the wall connecting it to the kitchen, removing wallpaper and lightening some of the furniture and replacing a few pieces ,you remember the two chairs beside the cabinet, they are the ones upholstered in drop cloths from Lowes.... I knew after all this we would have to have to try a new kind of tree this year..white white white....And whats whiter then a flocked tree and white owls....
These pretty white owls have been calling me all year...I found a few different styles and sizes on line and a couple from Pier 1....
The flocked tree I found at a local shop. It became quite a chore getting the right container, finally I found one at a wholesale floral shop that was meant for the tree and had the insert already with the screws to tighten around the trunk...I painted the planter with a light coat of white and put some long felt strips on the bottom to protect the floor...
The bears foraging in the woods add to the white Christmas, ( I see some berries for their meal) I love the Magnolia garland on top of the cabinet, they feel so real, even when you touch them you will not know for sure...These tiny birdhouses below with the brown owl are the ones you can purchase at Michaels unpainted or even Joann's for a couple dollars...I sprayed them white then sprayed the roofs with spray adhesive and pressed in Epsom salt...after that dried I sprayed the whole house with spray adhesive again and sprinkled glitter over them...
Ahh the Magnolia flowers are sooo different and perfect for this room...
She definitely looks like shes the mom watching over something....ahhh a nest...
I love the branches with pieces of ice hanging on the end of them so real looking...
Now these guys look very important don't they, perched a little higher then everyone else and watching people enter...
You can see the birdhouses tucked back into the tree...
Pinecones and some birch branches and a little sparkly...I do have some glass ornaments added and some beautiful ones with an owl feather inside from my friend Tiffany, they really add that touch of elegance that fits in with the snowy tree...
This is my new Pottery Barn couch in the picture...the color is natural and it is so comfy...
I know you are not getting tired of seeing these fury creatures and those big round eyes...
Everyone seems drawn to the owls on the tree maybe it's because they are just so wise...
Thank you so much for stopping by and hanging AROUND THE HOUSE I always enjoy the company and can't wait to hear what your thoughts about the lack of red white and green this year, please leave a comment and if you are not a follower please join us and become a follower it's on the sidebar...thanks again...phyllis
