TASTY WATERMELON TABLESCAPE

Good afternoon, come on out, I have everything ready...You are right, it is a beautiful day...

You are the first guests to arrive.. I sure hope you love watermelon as much as we do...

Oh, the cute watermelon dishes you ask?  I got them at Michaels, who would have thought, they were on sale  1.99 and 2.99 each...you just never know where you will find such cool tablescape inspirations...

Yes, thats your cocktail right there...of course I will give you the recipe...It is called a
VODKA AND WATERMELON COOLER
makes 6 average drinks or 4 biggies like we have
3 lbs watermelon/rind and seeds discarded
1/2cup vodka--1/4 cup triple sec--3 tbsp fresh lime juice
puree the watermelon pieces and strain through avery fine sieve set
over a pitcher---there should be about 2 1/2 cups of juice
stir in vodka, triple sec and lime....pour in a glass of ice and garnish
with watermelon slice....yummy....
Looks like you are lovin it too.... No, we don't need any ant spray, these fellas have been around before, they think they own this place...do they?  I know, the napkins rings are so sweet, could you believe they are from the GW and were 3.99 for the four of them....I love a good deal too...

These glasses are some of my favorite, how nice of you to remember...I know, they are huge!   I remember finding 10 of them for 99cents each at the GW store two years ago....  They remind me of those glasses you put all the fruit in and fill with Sangria.....oh my, that does give me an idea, sombreros, mariachis and colorful dishes...Oh well, thats a tablescape for another day for sure...

It  seems like those ants are getting bigger, or is it just an illusion....

The black and white dishes are from TJ Maxx a few years ago...you can never go wrong with black and white...right...

You are right again, those are the wooden chargers I got last year at the GW for a dollar each, I know they were originally 12.00 each at Pier 1...but remember they had a couple of stains on them and I sanded them perfect again....Yay ... for me....

There is plenty of room just scoot in and we can begin....

I am kind of drawn to tablescapes that are a little whimsical and fun.....or maybe just red..lol

Are they after my drink, oh no that's yours....

The flatware is from Ross's and comes in a service for four and very inexpensive, just perfect for a casual luncheon...
My geraniums are still doing well, you will remember them from the lady bug table scape...
We will be having our lunch and then a swim if you like...ahhhhh
 Get off of there you....
That does taste so refreshing, yummy.....
Sometimes the tablescapes that are the funnest to do are the ones that did not cost a lot of money, just a little mix and match with some creativity and color....that just means anyone can do it no matter what your price point is...I think thats what I love about it the most...

Thank you so much for coming over today,  I sure love it when we all get together on beautiful days like these...You gotta love these wonderful summer days..............ahhhhh... Please leave a comment as I love hearing from you and I read them all...also by leaving a comment I can find your blog and come to visit  you...Phyllis           I am joining

  4. Phyllis,
Your table looks fabulous! The watermelon bowls are so pretty, and I love the black and white checkered plates. Do you know that Black, White, and Red is one of my favorite color combinations? In fact, that is what I had in my kitchen for so long until I recently changed it to turquoise. I have been looking for a tea pot in this black and white checkered design, but haven't been able to find one. It's always a pleasure coming to visit with you, as you have so many amazing ideas.

    Love,
    ~Sheri

And to find the bargain napkin rings too - amazing. I loved joining you at this whimsical table. Your tablescape this week is perfect for this summer's heat! And who doesn't love watermelon? Isn't it the most popular summer fruit ever?
This tablescape is so very colorful: the plates, stemware, flatware, little visiting friends (ants) and of course the watermelon. I don't use a lot of red, but after hanging out with you, I need to try it. It looks so friendly and the colors really pop in your pictures!
BTW, thanks for the comments about your camera. I've always admired your photographs, they are so crystal clear. I'm still doing my research...I'll keep you posted!
Thanks for such an inspirational post and visiting my site!

Your table is sooooo wonderful. I keep seeing people say they are ready for fall, let's hold on to summer as long as we can.
Watermelon is the best way to prove it's still summer. I love your plates and bowls. Great deal on those and the chargers what a bargain. Great flatware, I will have to check that out. You know those ants are getting mighty brave, don't let them get into the drinks. I went to bed thinking about that concoction! I am pinning that recipe.
    Have a Watermelon day,
